Melissa Yoak, M.A.Ed, LPCC
Director/Counselor

Melissa Yoak’s career in the counseling field began over 20 years ago. She holds a Master of Arts Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Akron and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Malone University. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Melissa’s interests include couples and family therapy and helping women through anxiety, stress, depression and life adjustments. As director, she is passionate about the impact DaySpring’s work will have on generations. She is married to a minister of a local church and the mother of three children.


Deborah Sands, M.A., LPCC
Counselor

Debbi Sands holds a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Pastoral Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the State of Ohio. Specific areas of interest include relational issues, couples counseling, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief, recovery from abuse/trauma, faith concerns, family and life adjustment issues. She has a heart for working with individuals and couples. Debbi is married and has two children.



Nora Cord, MA, LPCC-S
Counselor

Nora Cord is a licensed professional clinical counselor supervisor. She began her counseling career in 2001. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling from the University of Akron and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Malone University. Nora’s specialties include children, adolescents, trauma, adoption, and attachment. She has experience in working with early childhood and enjoys helping parents learn to understand and manage their children’s behaviors. Nora has a passion to help individuals and families who have adopted connect and build their lives together. She is married and is the mother of two children.


Jennifer Vasquez, MA, LPC
Counselor

Jennifer Vasquez is a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Licensed Social Worker in the State of Ohio. She holds a Masters Degree from The University of Toledo and undergraduate degree from Anderson University. She began her counseling career in 2004 and works with children, adolescents, trauma, depression and anxiety. She has a passionate heart for strong families, marriage, and women coping with Infertility/Secondary Infertility. Jennifer is married and has one child.

 


Michael Johnson, MA, LPCC
Counselor

Mike Johnson has a Masters degree in Clinical Pastoral Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary and is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of Ohio. Mike’s specialties include working with children and adolescents, anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger management, and trauma. He also provides couples counseling, family counseling and helps men with issues specific to them. Mike has extensive experience working with social service agencies, foster families, and students with special needs in the school system. Mike is married, has three children and enjoys spending time with his family.


Tom Butler, MA Ed, LPCC-S, IMFT
Counselor

Tom holds a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Akron and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Kent State University. He is a member of the Ohio Counseling Association (OCA) and is accredited by the State of Ohio as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor Supervisor (LPCC-S) and an Independent Marriage & Family Therapist (IMFT). Tom’s areas of focus include couple counseling, parenting, anxiety, stress, depression, pre-marital, family and life adjustment issues. In addition to his 20+ years of clinical experience working with individuals, couples and families, Tom has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Ohio Christian University. Tom is married, has 2 children and 4 grandchildren.
